Crack Chicken Tenders are irresistibly crispy, juicy chicken tenders stuffed with melty cheese and coated in a flavorful breadcrumb and Parmesan crust. Perfect for a quick, family-friendly meal, they deliver a satisfying crunch and bold savory flavors in under 30 minutes, ideal for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Cheese

  • 1 lb fresh boneless, skinless chicken tenders
  • 4 oz cream cheese or mozzarella (for stuffing)

Breading Mixture

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Binding and Cooking

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil (for frying) or cooking spray (for baking/air frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three shallow dishes — one with beaten eggs, one with a mixture of panko breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper, and an empty plate for the coated tenders.
  2. Stuff the Chicken Tenders: Slice each chicken tender lengthwise carefully, creating a pocket without cutting all the way through. Insert a small amount of cream cheese or your chosen cheese inside the pocket, then press to close securely.
  3. Coat the Tenders: Dip each stuffed tender into the beaten eggs, letting excess drip off. Then dredge thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure a thick, even coating.
  4. Cook to Perfection: Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry tenders for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Alternatively, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes or air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 12 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  5. Let Them Rest and Serve: Allow tenders to rest for 2-3 minutes to lock in juiciness. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use fresh chicken tenders for juicier results and better texture.
  • Don’t skip cheese stuffing; it gives the recipe its addictive flavor and melty center.
  • Press the breading firmly to ensure it adheres well and stays crispy longer.
  • Maintain medium heat when pan-frying to avoid burning while cooking through.
  • Rest cooked tenders for a few minutes before serving to lock in juices.
