Easy Chicken Alfredo Casserole

Creamy and comforting Easy Chicken Alfredo Casserole combines tender rotisserie chicken, rich Alfredo sauce, and cheesy pasta baked into a delicious one-dish meal perfect for quick, family-friendly dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (preferably rotisserie)

Sauce

  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

Pasta

  • 8 ounces penne or rotini pasta

Cheese Topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (remaining from above)

Garnish (optional)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta and Chicken: Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside. Meanwhile, shred or dice your cooked chicken, making sure it’s ready to go into the casserole dish.
  2. Mix the Alfredo Sauce and Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the Alfredo sauce with garlic powder and half of the Parmesan cheese for extra flavor. This mixture will coat the pasta and chicken beautifully.
  3. Combine Pasta, Chicken, and Sauce: Add the cooked pasta and chicken to the sauce mixture, gently folding everything together to make sure every piece is well coated and ready for baking.
  4. Assemble the Casserole: Transfer the creamy mixture into a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle the top evenly with shredded mozzarella and the remaining Parmesan cheese to create a deliciously golden crust.
  5. Bake Until Bubbling and Golden: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until bubbly and the cheese on top turns a beautiful golden brown. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving to allow flavors to settle.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time and add rich flavor.
  • Do not overcook the pasta; undercook slightly as it finishes baking in the casserole.
  • Layer cheese inside and reserve some for topping to achieve a perfect melty crust.
  • Allow casserole to rest 5-10 minutes after baking for easier slicing.
  • Sprinkle fresh parsley or basil after baking for freshness and color.
