Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Stuffing

  • Whole Oreo cookies (about 12 standard Oreos)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cookie Dough: Start by creaming together the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated. The dough should be soft but thick enough to hold its shape.
  2. Assemble the Stuffed Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop a generous dollop of cookie dough and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a whole Oreo cookie in the center, then gently cover the Oreo with more dough, sealing it completely. Shape it into a ball ensuring no Oreo pieces are exposed.
  3. Bake to Perfection: Place the stuffed cookie balls on a lined baking sheet about two inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges start to turn a light golden brown while the center remains soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cooling helps the cookie firm up without losing the gooey middle.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent excessive spreading during baking.
  • Seal the cookie dough tightly around the Oreo to avoid leakage during baking.
  • Remove cookies from the oven when edges are golden but centers still appear slightly underdone for a gooey texture.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother dough and better flavor blending.
  • Space cookies at least two inches apart on the baking sheet to allow expansion without sticking.
