Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Season the Chicken: Cut the chicken breast into thin strips or bite-sized pieces. Season thoroughly with salt, pepper, and minced fresh garlic to infuse robust flavor.
  2. Sauté the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside, keeping it warm.
  3. Cook the Veggies: In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed. Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for 4 to 5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized, stirring occasionally.
  4. Combine Chicken and Veggies: Return the chicken to the skillet and mix well with the cooked veggies. Add a squeeze of lemon juice if using, to add a fresh, tangy contrast. Stir to combine and heat through.
  5. Assemble the Wraps: Lay the flour tortillas flat and sprinkle a generous layer of shredded cheese on each. Spoon the warm chicken and vegetable mixture evenly over the cheese. Fold the tortillas tightly to encase the filling.
  6. Melt the Cheese and Serve: Place each wrap seam-side down in the skillet over medium heat. Press gently and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until the cheese melts and the tortilla develops a light golden crisp. Garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro before serving.
