Ingredients

Scale

Protein and Pasta

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Seasonings and Aromatics

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 tsp freshly ground black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt, to taste

Cooking Fats and Garnish

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, mince the garlic, grate the Parmesan cheese, and chop the fresh parsley. Setting up all ingredients beforehand ensures a smooth cooking process.
  2. Sauté the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt, and cook until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the Garlic and Pasta: In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add the dry pasta, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, roughly 10 minutes.
  4. Make the Sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream, honey, and freshly ground black pepper. Let the mixture simmer gently until it thickens, about 3 minutes.
  5. Combine and Finish: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and thoroughly mix with the pasta and sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Adjust seasoning with salt and additional pepper if needed.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish for color and freshness. Serve immediately while warm and creamy.

Notes

  • Use freshly ground black pepper for the best flavor impact.
  • Avoid overcooking chicken to keep it juicy; remove as soon as cooked through.
  • Adjust the amount of cream to customize sauce thickness according to preference.
  • Cooking pasta directly in the skillet absorbs more flavor and reduces cleanup.
  • Allow the dish to rest for a couple minutes after cooking to let flavors meld.
