Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

Fresh Aromatics

  • 45 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (optional)

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (cornstarch slurry)

Noodles & Garnish

  • 8 oz egg noodles or preferred noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Mince the fresh garlic and ginger to unlock their full aroma. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking. Cook the noodles following package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and sauté until golden brown and cooked through, about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside, keeping the pan hot for the sauce.
  3. Make the Sticky Garlic Sauce: In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Sauté the minced garlic and ginger until fragrant, approximately 30 seconds. Pour in soy sauce, honey or brown sugar, and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens to a sticky consistency.
  4. Combine Chicken and Noodles: Return the cooked chicken to the pan, then add the cooked noodles. Gently toss everything together so the chicken and noodles are evenly coated in the luscious sticky garlic sauce.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped green onions on top to add freshness and color. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy the comforting sticky garlic goodness.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic rather than garlic powder for the most vibrant flavor.
  • Cook noodles al dente to prevent sogginess when mixed with the sauce.
  • Avoid overcooking chicken to keep it juicy and tender.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more honey or brown sugar to taste.
  • Stir-fry over high heat to ensure sauce thickens evenly and chicken stays tender.
